Amibroker is a hack job. I quit using that a long time ago. Python + modules are unbeatable for backtesting. Sorry, I don't have an answer for your question.
By putting in a sell date of today (on all trades), the formula can't show a profit or statistics while the trade is still open ended, I am surmising.
antiseptic. I like AB a lot but would like a single platform for B'testing and when u said python is better using modules, that piqued my interest. What modules should I search for? I am just learning python for my ML/AI classes so in 3-5 months prob gonna get to the point of doing what u have done. MY interest is in marrying classic tech analysis on the underlying with using option spreads on intra-day data (ex. 30 minute Short Term MA> long term MA then buy a straddle, hold on for 5 days then close. So python has to have tech analysis library, and option pricing... although I guess I can import that option pricing using an Excel plugin to generate that if/then statement which can get pasted onto my .py file. Thanks in advance.
Please move your discussion elsewhere. I'm not interested in anything other than how to solve this problem
Daal, You should go to the Amibroker support forum for your answer. That's where the experts are, not here.
A guy who struggles simple AB concepts and puts another known long term AB user and coder on ignore is not what I would call intelligent thinking.
