For Civil War to have a chance and not just be some crazy people with guns that could be overrun on a Sunday afternoon, it would have to have deep roots in the military and law enforcement. It would take a serious shake of confidence in elections, not just a few fringe folks saying that all elections are fake. And there would have to be a significant hit to quality of life (like being able to feed one's family, or heat one's home, etc). Without those ingredients, I don't think so.
Agreed. We should just have a peaceful split like The Confederacy tried to do last time.Due to slavery that couldn't happen but today most folks would approve of a peaceful split imo. Sometimes I think Lincoln should have let him go as I doubt slavery would have lasted much longer even without the war.
From my understanding of the Civil War, it was to stop the expansion of slavery into new territories. Even so, the winning of the war did fall short in granting emancipation to slaves, it promoted genocide to native americans. "You folks can have rights, but you over there,... No!"
This is happening as we speak. It starts will libraries. The whole book banning thing is troublesome. On one hand alt-right wants to promote individual liberties, yet on the other want to promote only their own liberties and constrain the liberties of others. Seems like a slippery slope that both sides of the political spectrum have a a blind spot.
I don't know, there were hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) under slavery. I see it no different than the allies defeating the nazi scourge.
This is the end result of faux outrages like CRT, to overtake, control, and ultimately privatize all aspects of education
