There was this book written in the early 30's....... "Mein Kampf" My struggle. the author, Adolf Hitler, was looked upon as a dreamer. People laughed. Not for long. Fifteen years later, trillions of dollars, tens of millions of dead, people wished they paid attention. If the guy has nuclear weapons, runs a country, tells you he's going to wipe out Israel, vaporize his Arab ass. I believe guys like him. The Jewish people have had enough grief for 10,000 years. They deserve better.

Ahmadinejad is the Bush of Iran. Cheney and gang ran things here in the US. Iran has religious leaders run every aspect of that country. Ahmadinejad is just a public face with no power. If you didn't know, we threw out the democratically elected shah in 1979, and supported the policies that eventually gave us Ahmadinejad. Once again we created our enemy (see: Saddam, Bin Laden, etc) Ahmadinejad will leave office soon, just like GWB, and they both will fade from the international spotlight. Let's stop over inflating the severity of things. Both in economics and in politics.
If I-Am-a-nut-job really thinks that the mighty US is really going to fall, why doesn't he short the piss out of the dollar, and our market, and make his country the next great empire. Fact is, without oil demand from the us, his country will have nothing of value to offer the world. And, that event would be the catalyst that forces another revolution in Iran.

Your analysis is wrong, The COLLAPSE of the US will have implications worldwide. Imagine a total collapse of the US and oil demand droping 80%! Then, Imagine a drop in demand for ANY goods from China, or any of those other countries, and by now, you should be able to envision the inevitable outcome. It's a nasty spiral. Iran left with only one resource OIL, a significant reduction in worldwide oil demand, and plenty of countries looking to provide it will end up worse off then before.
