Stocks up huge yet earnings rarely showing anything to warrant such returns!!

AMD up 100% plus from April lows

SMCI up nearly 100% in 2025

Nothing special out of either of these 2 stocks after earnings tonight especially given the fact they have catapulted to extreme highs the last few weeks.

After seeing AMD jump over 100% from lows and produce earnings that were just in line is extremely questionable....earnings weren't enough to showcase a 100% jump in the stock price the last few months and with all the extreme hype behind ai how is it that SMCI produced really bad earnings. You would think SMCI for being such a strong ai play that earnings would be extremely spectacular but they were extremely far from that ....

    SMCI

Earnings per share: 41 cents adjusted vs. 44 cents expected
Revenue: $5.76 billion vs. $5.89 billion expected

For the current quarter, Super Micro called for 40 cents to 52 cents in adjusted earnings per share on $6 billion to $7 billion in revenue for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by LSEG were looking for 59 cents per share and $6.6 billion in revenue.

    AMD

    Earnings down 30%%%%
