Amazon workers vote against union at Alabama warehouse

Unions aren't always the best situation for employees, but they're basically never the best situation for employers. Don't know who would be better off in this situation, but the employees felt that they were better off voting against it I guess.

 

On average unionized shops make better money, have better benefits and better job security than non union shops.

It’s one of those things where I just don’t get it.

 

Too many people out of work still, a labor surplus, so the employees were afraid. An old story.

 

They voted against having their site shut down by Amazon.

 

Hopefully Amazon will halve their wages, to teach 'em a lesson.

 

it is often employers against unions not employees so naturally Amazon might cut the workforce if thye unionize due to higher costs.

 

I think rumor was Amazon threatened to cut OT

 

Workers potentially lose other benefits.

 

That assumes Amazon has too many staff on now to fill orders.

 

They are working to replace most of these people over time with robots anyhow.
