    Hello,

I want to trade SPY, but it is just too expensive. What ETF would be your recommendation to trade as an alternative?

you do know about Globex, the CME and es, right? Is this a joke? get yourself a decent broker like www.interactivebrokers.com

you can trade 100k of spy futures for a song, and if you are really looking to go cheap you can trade a micro by spreading es vs ym

ameritrade or schwab won't get it for you, you're going to get killed if you try to trade an etf as a substitute for spy

SPY is the cheapest thing out there, it trades like water, too expensive?

  4. I think he means the share price is too expensive...

I wasn't aware there is a minimum on SPY, I think you can still buy one share. If he means the commission is too high I already told him what to do. Get a decent broker and trade es.

how about you invest in the loyek S&P 500 index fund? Sure, I charge 2% of the gross, but the share price is only 9 dollars and for 900 dollars you can buy 100 shares! I split two for one every time I close above $20, because I like to keep it affordable, unlike SPY which is just too expensive.

You can open a futures account with very little (e.g. $1,000), and trade 1 contract (e.g. $500 margin/contract). 1 point ES (mini s&p) = $50. Round trip commission and fees under $5/contract. But, this is day trading. If you want to hold overnight the margin is above $5,000/contract.

    Hi,
loyek 590: I guess my question was not clear enough as masterjaz_99 said. Basically, I want to trade S&P 500, and the only ETF I know that represents S&P 500 is the "SPY". the minimum share size I am allowed to buy/sell through my broker is 100 shares. So, once I place an order I am investing into $20, 700 and I dislike this. (Yes, I have enough buying power to buy or sell more than 100 shares, but instead of trading a $207 stock, i would rather look for some other etf with a lower price. )I am wondering if there is another ETF that is like SPY , but with a lower price. Hope this is a better explanation. Thank you for the answers
