The one common theme that these democrats have is they all want to dump Obamacare. Most of them were the same people that put it in place in the first place. Keep in mind Obamacare passed without a single republican vote in the House or Senate.

  2. Well, yes, a lot of flat-footed talk about medicare-for-all is in progress. At the same time, there is a pantload of DON'T ASK-DON'T TELL going on. It's amazing- for example- how fired up the dems are about health care/insurance issues while at the same time not a single one of them can articulate what Joe Biden's health care plan is. Probably that is because Biden has not declared one- yet a good portion of Dem Village has already gone ahead and declared him to be their savior- I guess with faith that he will fill in the blanks later.

Expect to see more aggressive talk about Medicare for All but with more talk about having Obamacare with a public option in their hip pocket when they get into trouble. All of the candidates saw the gasping when Kamala Harris came out and declared that she would eliminate private sector health insurance with no way to crab-walk if in trouble. No hedging with talk about public option. No talk about private sector health insurance supplements as with regular regular medicare, etc. Nothing. She just ended out creating a brutal sound bite that will be stuck up her bo-bo over and over again if she gets the nomination. She left herself no wiggle room whatsoever- which I think is okay if you are Bernie and have already thought this through- but as we have seen- Harris is sort of trying to be bold about areas where she is not very smart. Not a good combination.

Anyway, Biden is going to be basking in the afterglow of his little announcement for at least until the middle of next week. Then he will be answering questions about his health plan- or lack thereof- 24/7 for the next year and a half so I am not worried about his getting a pass. Just saying it is amazing how many have already embraced him without needing to know what his plan is. Unlike the other candidates, he also has to defend Obamacare while acknowledging that the reason people want change is because they think it is el sucko. Easier said than done.

So far we know that Joe is special and has been on the scene for 50 years and Obama used to hug him a lot. For many, that will be enough.......for the others....well, Joe.....you might need to do a little work.
