AI development is moving at lightning speed, and people I speak to think it’s gonna shred the economy, big societal changes, similar to the arrival of the Internet. what do you geniuses think in general, and more specifically, how do you think it will affect trading and the markets.
"If we go ahead on this everyone will die, including children who did not choose this and did not do anything wrong." https://time.com/6266923/ai-eliezer-yudkowsky-open-letter-not-enough/ The market will likely perceive this as highly bullish.
Italy already temporarily banned ChatGPT: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-65139406 The problem with AI I see is...if we ban it in our country but other countries do not ban it, are we economically worse off?
Italy is a very beautiful country to live, but is low on innovation and economics. Education standard is generally lower and the smart people often move up to the nordic or west countries in europe
I'm only slightly concerned about the slow, insidious effects of AI,taking away jobs once performed by humans, cheating on exams, etc, but I am EXTREMELY concerned if they start thinking about putting our nukes in the hands of an AI bot. I wouldn't want a real-life scenario of the Matthew Broderick movie War Games. That movie scared the crap outta me.
I think the problem is more The Terminator like. But War Games was a great movie - "shall we play a Game?"
Yes when Skynet became self-aware it decided our fate in a microsecond. I just hope this current AI they're working on never becomes self-aware.
Well said The drawback of ai is there's no wisdom, lessons learned, perspective.... it's just reshuffled facts without context
