Hello to All. I want to say that the recent time period i have detect inside the stock market the D-Wave Systems with the stock symbol: QBTS. By the way, from the deep past i had as dream to make an investment in stocks to that company. My dream come true, when before a little days i bought about 1180 shares of that company in the field of 1.51 USD each. But as i watched the move of that stock the last 10 days about, drop every day with the percentage drop about -10% each day. Today, i buy and some others 1000 shares in the price of 1.15 USD per share. By the way here: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/QBTS/holders?p=QBTS says that 12.58% of the shares own it Goldman Sachs. And i wonder if Goldman Sachs want to right down losses from their investment. By the way, after a small research into the U.S.A stock market i detect two other stocks in almost the same field of Quantum Computing that possibly have an interest. They are: 1) Rigetti Computing, Inc. stock symbol: RGTI 2) IonQ inc. stock symbol: IONQ Also, a little days ago i sent an e-mail message to D-Wave Systems in attention of Mr. Eric Ladizinski. Here it is my e-mail message: ----- Special attention to Eric Ladizinsky. Hello. I want to ask some things relative with the D-Wave Company. Right now as are the facts for me, I have bought some Stocks of the Company in a U.S.A Exchange some day ago. As I seen from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Wave_Systems right now you have the quantum supercomputer Pegasus P16 active. That product have buy it entities inside the United States of America and entities of the World right now ? Assume that a Bussiness Company want to use the quantum supercomputer Pegasus P16 without to buy it. Suppose the same happen to the other Bussiness Companies. Exist the chance the quantum supercomputer Pegasus P16 to work with these Bussiness Companies together and in consecutiveness ? The quantum supercomputer Pegasus P16 will work in the same speed together for each of these Bussiness Companies or will have reduced speed because of that ? I will stay for your comments. Kind Regards, George Kanellopoulos. ----- Until now, i have receive an answer to my e-mail. So, i want to ask if exist in the EliteTrader other People that watch basically the D-Wave Systems. It will be very interest to me to listen their opinion in the D-Wave Systems. Kind Regards, George Kanellopoulos.
Buying that kind of stock in this kind of market regime means you need to be fine with it dropping 99% from when you buy it, i.e. wiping out your invested capital. If it does, have a reasonable amount of capital stashed away to buy more shares (assuming you're confident in your investment thesis). I was going to suggest hedging, but honestly there's no foolproof protection against a particular speculative stock performing horribly during a bear market other than adequate position sizing.
I used to watch QBTS, but it really confused the heck out of me - the stock price seemed, high, low and everything in between all at the same time...
AFAIK quantum computing is vaporware and a borderline scam which will likely never produce anything useful, let alone marketable.
Hello Again. I have detect these news about Quantum Computing this hour: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/3-quantum-computing-stocks-millionaire-234911338.html Kind Regards, George Kanellopoulos.
Good day to be long RGTI & QBTS. Both up 20+%. These companies burn a lot of cash. QBTS has more R&D expense than actual revenue. I guess they are a better bet than Phase I biotech companies (since they have a product already) but you have to wonder if the losses will exceed their cash balance. Financing in this market means secondary offerings that will dilute the shareholders.
Get a blank piece of paper and write on it: 2070's WEAR THE SUIT And then glue, tape, plaster it to your ceiling. If you make it to that decade, you'll understand. Here's a hint: The biggest unknown threat today is AI discovering stuff that is 'Beyond human comprehension."
There will likely be many different and separate AI systems. It's also likely many will be on the side of humans. But actually, it will probably be the same old as we've had for last X thousands years: empires rising and falling, and AI is the latest technology.
Hey Specter... Just curious, do you still think this is the case? I assume you have expertise in the field. tia
I do not have any expertise in the field. As far as the experts go, there's one group hyping up "quantum computing" and another group who says we don't actually know how to build a useful quantum computer, and doing so requires overcoming major theoretical & engineering obstacles that may never be resolved. How to decide who's right? Well, we've been hearing about quantum computing for a number of years now, yet hype-filled press releases aside, to my knowledge nobody in the world is actually using a quantum computer to do anything a regular computer can't. It's pretty much the same as fusion power: lots of money going in, lots of people working on it, and occasional "breakthroughs" popping up in the media. But the bottom line is that nothing useful has been produced, so the entire field is vaporware until proven otherwise.
