A simple unique OS question?

    I am trying to help my dear mom. I installed Windows 2k pro on her old machine that was running Windows ME, and it's running much better thanks.

    To the point..........if I installed SP 4 for Windows 2k do I need to installing the preceding service packs or does SP4 include everything?

    run window update, it tells you what patchs to install.

    Actually I did, it told me I had to go to service packs and manually install before I could install any updates so I did and I installed SP4 hoping it would be inclusive of all preceding service packs, but it didn't specify. That's the reason for the question. Thanks for the speedy reply. :cool:

    You should be good to go, that is, to run Windows Update. See Summary here:

    I believe all Microsoft service packs are cumulative, rather than incremental.
