im new to scripting and also new to thinkorwsim(switching from webullsht) i thought it would be a good first project if its possible to create a script in TOS that shows number of trades in the scanner. i know a little bit of coding from my past adventures(html c++ java,(basic lol) ) im old) i know scanz has that feature but its way out of my budget since im still learnign and not profitable to afford such scanner. so i was wondering if that is somethign that canbe done with a script in TOS
FYI - I do not have all the info on this but TD Ameritrade has merged with Schwab. I have heard rumblings that when it is all said and done that TOS will be out. I am hoping this is not true but? I do not understand that you mean by the number of trades in the scanner? Why would that be of interest?
Out like gone? From what i understand it will just be absorbed my td ameritrade and platform will continue to exist. (Thats from their page) by number of trades i mean just that Number of trades. Scanz shows top ten by number of individual trades that day. Which is very helpful to find most traded stocks. Most scanners show by volume of shares. Which can mean one whale buying 2 million shares and stock is not hot. Number of actual trades shows how many traders are engaged in trading that stock. Whether they buy 10 or 1000000000 shares.
1. Schwab bought out TD Ameritrade. 2. Whales usually hide trades. Small amounts at a time. 3. Bigger clue - trade volume at certain time of day vs historic.
