I want to start a blog and after doing some brief research, I have learned that WordPress is the most popular. They have 2 versions. WordPress.org and WordPress.com. WordPress.org is free but you have to find a host. Word Press.com has more options and they secure your domain name and host if for you at a modest expense. ------ Would it just be easier to stay with the .com version for simplicity, especially for a rookie? Is there anything else I should consider? I don't know anything about blogs or WordPress except for what I have read online and seen on Youtube. Thanks
You want the .com version. The .org version is free, but YOU will be the one responsible for patching up all the security holes, fighting off spam, installing and maintaining any add-on modules, backing up everything, etc. Unless you are an IT expert, you don't want to get anywhere near the .org version.
