It used to be that hitching your wagon to the NFL was a great way to be a successful business. In 2016 the vile stench of leftism took hold on the NFL and began to corrupt it. It is no surprise that those associated with the NFL began to suffer financially due to the decision by the NFL to cave to the leftists. The NFL's situation is not unique. History has shown, with great clarity, the effects of adopting the principles of the left. Anger, destruction, and despair is what the left is selling. This is one more testament to the utter destruction these losers bring. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...es-nfl-debacle-for-hurting-sales-of-its-pizza Papa John’s International Inc. founder John Schnatter is going after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, saying weak handling of the league’s national-anthem controversy has hammered sales of his pizza. “The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle to the players’ and owners’ satisfaction,” Schnatter, who serves as the pizza chain’s chairman and chief executive officer, said on a conference call. “NFL leadership has hurt Papa John’s shareholders.”
However Papa John's while tasty, is loaded with salt & fat. Especially if you dip in the garlic butter which I do. So fewer people eating their pizza is a boon to the health and by extension economic wealth of the nation. NFL protest saved lives and helped the economy.
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/11/piz...otests-anthem-business-sponsor-ceo-pizza-wars Pizza Hut says sales are just fine after Papa John's complaints about NFL protests Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter blamed NFL anthem protests for lower-then-expected sales this week, which opened the company up to ruthless mocking on the internet. On Thursday, Pizza Hut countered Papa John’s claim and wanted to let everyone know that their business hasn’t been hurt by Yum Brands’ relationship with the NFL. According to Business Insider, Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed told investors that Pizza Hut hasn’t seen the impact from NFL player protests that Papa John’s claimed to be damaging their business. Creed said: “We’re not seeing any impact from any of that.” While Papa John’s is recognized as the “official” pizza of the NFL, brands like Pizza Hut and Dominos rely considerably on NFL fans for their game-day sales. If fans were turning off the NFL due to player protests, Pizza Hut would see impacted sales figures. Pizza Hut’s comments suggest that Papa John’s struggles are food issues more so than they are results of an NFL boycott. Fans certainly backed up that stance.
Are you kidding me? American's have gotten so fat that they can't even hobble around the supermarket on their own power to find more garbage to shovel down their pieholes, so the supermarkets are forced to provide them with motorized carts to help them get their fat asses around the store. You really think the drop in Papa John's sales is due to the fact that it is loaded with salt and fat?
I meant that Papa John's selling less pizza is going to make people healthier. A lame joke but I agree with you. I was through Charlotte and Miami on my way to Colombia a week back. Holy mother, you forget when outside the US how fat people are there. I know Mexicans can be heavy but Colombians are pretty slim and healthy. The traditional food is fairly dull and tasteless lacking salt/spices and butter etc. in Colombia but one realises fairly quickly, that is a good thing.
Really, I am not sure I ever had Colombian food. I would think would be somewhat along of the lines of Mexican. Maybe that is why there are not many Colombian resturants.
Its good clean food simply cooked, at least in places like Medellin/ Antioquia provence. You can have anything you want here of course, including Papa Johns but Colombians like their traditional foods a lot and the majority of restaurants outside the cities are 'traditional'. Very different to Mexico but still a lot of corn of course. In three years living much of the time here, sometimes in Panama, I have only had a bad stomach twice. In Mexico, I was there for a month (Yucatan area and south) and and I had unclean food every couple of days. Colombia is great. They are a very clean/tidy and disciplined people. Edited: but it is a big country, again I can vouch for Antioquia Provence more than other areas.
Lots of fatsos in the UK now, too. Italy as well. As food becomes cheaper, more available and more processed, you're even seeing more weight on folks in places I'd never have thought possible - like Moscow or Budapest. It's a friggen tragedy, I tell you.
I have an idea, why doesn’t papa johns stop being associated with the nfl. Then we wouldn’t have to deal with crybabies.
