I bookmarked Twitter to my Bookmarks bar. When I hit the bookmark for Twitter it 'shows up' on the bar. But, when I leave, another avatar shows up in its place. It can be Google, Youtube or Duck Duck Go. Basically, it can be any avatar I already have bookmarked on the bar. But, Twitter fades in and out. I deleted the bookmark and re-added it several times but it still behaves this way. No other bookmark does this. It did not do this last week or prior. It started a few days ago. What's the malfunction? ------------- I was searching YouTube, trying to find a solution to the above problem. I found a video from some Russian guy that had created a range extender for wifi. But, instead of extending the range of his router, he created a home made device that was able to extend up to 300 meters and log into the free wifi available in his area. It was able to detect all the wifi broadcast in his town, but he found some that was unsecure and logged in. I did not think that was do-able. I thought that all we could do is extend the range of our routers but not extend the range to receive others. Was this a gimmick? Sometimes it is hard to tell, and even harder when you don't understand what is being said. Thanks
I don't know the answer to your Twitter question. No, that is not a gimmick, it is for real. For example: https://www.boatingmag.com/boatinglab-test-wifi-range-extenders/ It mostly involves creating a better antenna than your usual modem which you use at home. This in order to get better signal reception and transmission. On a sailboat you can place the antenna in the top of the mast for optimum performance (unless you encounter lightning). You can connect to any wifi network that you find as long as you know the password, or if it is not password protected.
That is interesting. I am not a boat owner, it is not necessary in Dallas, when you are 300 miles from the ocean. But, there are a lot of boat specific items most people never consider. --- Do you have any idea why my Twitter bookmark keeps clicking in and out? Right now it is represented by Duck Duck Go. It's the only bookmark that does this and I have ran out of ideas.
