    The Years of Shame
Is it just me, or are the 9/11 commemorations oddly subdued?

Actually, I don’t think it’s me, and it’s not really that odd.

What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.

A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?

The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.

I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.

  2. Krugman is an idiot for using the right left paradigm as the basis of his argument.
And as a typical socialist keynesian lying dipshit he won't allow anyone to reply to his nonsense.

  3. If you look at the 911 truther thread from yesterday the truthers on here are conservatives...rew,denner,jem,hombre etc. Most birthers happen to be conservatives as well then you have conservitives like jem being a truther and ET's # 1 birther

Once again you are on the wrong side of reality, a larger percentage of democrats/liberals believe in the truther movement than conservatives. This has already been demonstrated in numerous polls.

I think this is probably true. It cannot be denied that the reaction to 911 has been a debacle and the US is not any stronger and is more politically divided than ever. It appears to be a seminal event in the history of the US, but I hate to acknowledge anything Krugman says, as he is the king of wrong, most of the time.

  6. Are you talking about actual conservatives or people who think they are conservatives but are really died in the wool leftists like the neocons.

When did Krugman ever allow comments on his "ariticles"?

Have you seen the man on television? He is a nut, a genuine madman. It is no wonder the nuts on ET attach themselves to this loon.

Some consider his Nobel Prize as some kind of validation of every utterance spewed from his pie-hole. For fuck's sake they gave Obama a Nobel Prize for shit he hadn't even done yet and will never do. The Nobel Prize has become a badge of mediocrity and incompetence.

Krugman hates his country yet cannot summons the courage to leave it. A coward and a traitor. He will never allow comments because he simply can't take any criticism.
