https://newsroom.heart.org/news/8-h...d-to-a-91-higher-risk-of-cardiovascular-death But just two years ago: https://www.baptistjax.com/juice/stories/heart-vascular/is-intermittent-fasting-heart-smart- This advice change reminds me of eggs. https://theconversation.com/eggs-an...ople were, were linked to salmonella poisoning.
I think this new study will need to be replicated with prospective studies before its conclusions can be accepted at face rather than the manner in which it was conducted - retrospectively.
The egg article, especially, shows that 'industry' contracts these studies and monetises same with bonuses for particular findings. The humble reader assumes that 'science' has gone out of its way to crunch the numbers and look out for their well being. Competing industries is the reason for flip flopping findings. In 50 years, independent studies will show that coffee is the major contributor to a myriad of health conditions including cancer*.Until then, that particular industry will throw its billions at suppressing negativity and, indeed, paying for studies that show, for example, how great it is for the heart. *Current coffee drinker.
I agree that balance is the key but I'm sure Ive seen studies over the years saying '6 cups is the sweet spot' etc. I have my suspicions but I could well be wrong.Perhaps its one of the keys to our increased longevity, but right now I am a skeptic. @Frederick Foresight Sorry.Stuffed up my reply formatting.
I haven't followed the trend, but 6 cups seems a bit excessive. Of course, there is the matter of strength. A cup of cafeteria coffee is not comparable to a cup of Starbucks coffee. I can tell you that instant decaf is not a good option. It raises LDL. Studies show it, and I confirmed it on myself.
Aaaah Ok,perhaps thats the differential. As usual, quality makes the difference. Whats the best option in your opinion? I would invest in high quality if I could have the benefits and limit the negatives.
Awesome. Thanks mate! How do you do coffee at the Foresight residence,if you dont mind me asking? Might as well follow someone who's already crunched the numbers.
I mostly go out to cafes for my coffee. Helps limit my consumption, because I really like the stuff. So I normally sip green tea all day long. At first I hated it - it tasted the way grass clippings smelled. But now I look forward to it. Funny how the mind adapts.
