Keep in mind california is what the liberal loons are holding up as a great success story. âWe need some recognition that weâre doing a service to the community. But we canât do it for free. And we canât do it at a loss. No other business would do that,â exclaims the president of the California Medical Association, as The Washington Examiner reports, independent insurance brokers estimate 70% of California's 104,000 licensed doctors are boycotting the exchange. âThe Covered California board says we have plenty of doctors, and they allege they have 85 percent of doctors participating, but theyâve shown no numbers," and if a large number of doctors either balk at participating in the exchange or retire, the stateâs medical system could be overwhelmed. âEnrollment doesnât mean access, because there arenât enough doctors to take the low rates of Medicaid,â warns one health director. âThere arenât enough primary care physicians, period.â
"Liberalism" = Socialism, Marxism, Communism, Progressive-ism, Nazi-ism. Hopefully America's greedy dumbfucks will eventually figure that out.
Actually, the nazis killed the commies, first thing. No, I don't care what merely symbolic labels they put on themselves at the time.
This is off topic, but I am continuingly amazed that we don't just start more medical schools. I can understand why these doctors don;t want to be forced to take low payments for their services, but there are plenty of people who would love to go to med school and become doctors, even if it meant they wouldn't make a million a year. There is a market failure here somewhere. Look how many layers we produce every year, with iffy job prospects for most. I realize the AMA, etc have made it very difficult to start new medical schools and they are not as profitable for universities as a law or business school, which require only hiring a handful of profs. Still, we have something approaching a national crisis on medical care. We clearly need more doctors, plus we have a vast pool of potential students who will not have very good career prospects in other fields.
Doing some cursory research awhile back on the reasons behind our high medicals costs. I ran across one reason in particular for our problem. Our med schools are among some of the most expensive on the planet. This is an indisputable contributing factor to our medical cost woes. (not the only one of course) And one that could be addressed with positive benefits across the board without the need for additional federal programs and bureaucracy. We just need some foresight and leadership from Washington. This administration exhibits neither of these qualities.
