  1. Hi,
i am using lenovo laptop, but there is only 1 VGA port in my laptop. my graphic card is inter HD 5500 with cpu i5. some people told me it is not possible to add more than 3 monitors for laptop but some said it is ok. i am confused.

can anyone tell me how to add 4-6 monitors to my laptop? what adapter i need to buy?

    thanks,

  2. You're not going to be "mobile" with 4-6 monitors.

It's much more cumbersome and perhaps even costly with adapters to hook that many monitors to a laptop. Why not an inexpensive desktop computer for trading (suggest a used Dell Precision T3500 for ~$200)? Then with 2 or more PCIEx16 slots, it's easy to add perhaps a many as 12 monitors.

Doesn't it get a bit old trying to tell people they can't tow a trailer with VW bug

I don't think Starbucks has enough plugs for me to use all those monitors.

Would Laptop tend to burn out from all the heat from all the monitors? I wonder if you can make popcorn from that heat.

  6. The only "power" concern for the laptop would be for the onboard video chip/card. The monitors each have their own power supply.

  8. yes agree. so any suggestion for the adapater i should use? my laptop only has 1 VGA port. and do you think my intel HD 5500 graphic card is enough to do 4 additional monitors? thanks!

  10. I don't know. There is at least one adapter you can get which will plug into your laptop and then connect to perhaps 3 more monitors.. and perhaps with an additional adapter for each monitor? However, you may be limited to "VGA resolution" for each of the monitors as a limitation of the adapter. If I recall correctly, the adapter maker is Matrox (??)

Personally, I think hooking up 4-6 monitors to a laptop is ridiculous. Besides being a mess, low performance and the cost... you still have to have a place to put all of those monitors. And it's easier to hook up a desktop in that space than trying to jerry-rig a laptop.... which was NEVER designed to work that way.
