I like how that article has a picture of the chap standing on top of a building just before he jumped. He's smiling as well. Nice.
They'd just moved him to Volpunter's desk... No MBA nor PHD can prepare you to such a hardship. Poor chap
This also happened to a school friend of mine, he also jumped to his death. Drug taking was involved. Such a shame as he was making 6 figures, had the women, the NY apartment etc. It's important to remember that the markets will always be there with other opportunities in different cycles for the patient trader. Emotions can run high but never mix the drugs that can magnify the smallest thing.
The picture doesn't quite fit the story unless he sees ending his life as an end to his overwhelming stress, thus a source of freedom for him. The alternative would be to quit his job, but some people cannot deal with the loss of social status in a lower paying job. Maybe he couldn't stand the thought of failure compared to his peers.
I feel for investment bankers....my heart goes out to them...they really have it tough. /roll eyes and says fuck em
"...Associate investment bankers often work up to 90 hours per week, which include a lot of nights and weekends. Although many adapt to the long hours and immense stress, others are not so lucky..."
"Eventually hit a guard rail" yeah it took ages for him to fall LOL That guard rail is a LONG way away from the buildings, no way to know how high the building is from the photo but the area suggests it's not a sky scraper. That's a good running jump even if it is a sky scraper.
not everyone can be like good ole bill, rolling with the punches. this picture is less than 2days old. by the way where is his other hand? she doesn't look too happy. just joking. the picture is from 12/14
