You should have stayed in New York instead of moving to Florida because you're more likely to become a victim of crime in Florida than in New York based upon the most recent Public Safety rankings. In addition, Florida has more urban cities than New York ranked in the top 300 based on population size & inner cities. If I was you, I would start practicing how to put someone in "choke holds" to snuff the life out of them because you'll be more threaten in Florida.
