Of course, many are. But traders enter the competition not knowing what their accounts will look like a year from now. Anyone who is lucky can proclaim how good they are, after the fact. Of course your trading skills don’t depend on luck as much, but no one can know this when you sound the same as anyone who is lucky. That’s why those traders enter the competition, to prove they aren’t the same as any guy claiming to make money after the fact. You can do the same and also enter such competition. Also, the competition may be a good way to demonstrate what an average pro trader may be able to make. I think the average may be below 40%, which should help people asking how to make 1000% or even “only” 60%/year realize what they’re up against. Of course outliers make thousands % during some years (with limited capacity), and we may not even know about them.
These guys take insane risk because there is only upside no downside. Need to moderate expectations of the wins
someone can enter the race with two accounts taking huge risk by hedging out the risk in the account not in the race. A high chance he could win.
Only upside,no downside??Not sure I follow you..Are you saying the guys in the 1 mil plus do not have real dollars at risk??
Hedging wouldn't help your reputation when you take risk in the public account and lose. While it also costs money to enter.
