NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released new surveillance images Sunday as its Hate Crime Task Force investigates an attack on a woman was punched repeatedly by six people who hurled anti-Asian remarks at her during an argument about masks on a Manhattan subway train, police said.

The group got into an argument with the woman because she wasn’t wearing a face mask while riding the subway, according to police.

During the argument, the suspects made anti-Asian comments about the coronavirus to the woman, police said.

The argument turned physical and the suspects began punching the woman in the face multiple times, according to police.

OAKLAND — An-ex-convict was charged Thursday with special circumstances murder and multiple felony charges in the violent robbery and assault on Tuesday of a 75-year-old Asian man who later died.

Teaunte Bailey, 26, was also charged for a Feb. 19 robbery and assault of a 72-year-old man after allegedly breaking into a senior living apartment in West Oakland, authorities said.

That crime happened just weeks after he was released on his own recognizance in some San Francisco robberies, according to authorities and court records.

Bailey was arrested Tuesday evening in West Oakland after a police vehicle pursuit. The attack on the 75-year-old man, a widower using his cane while out for his daily walk, happened just before 7 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Perkins Street and Jayne Avenue in the city’s Adams Point neighborhood, just a short distance from his home. Bailey hit the man with a closed fist and took unspecified items from him, authorities said.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as Pak Ho. After hitting the pavement, Ho suffered a traumatic head injury and brain damage, and died in an Oakland hospital on Thursday. The death is the 29th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated seven homicides in the city.

The criminal complaint against Bailey includes several felony charges and numerous enhancement clauses, including one stating that the Oakland crimes happened while he was free on his own recognizance in at least two San Francisco robberies last March and April. He had been arrested April 4 after a vehicle pursuit by San Francisco police that ended with a crash near the Treasure Island exit on the Bay Bridge. A woman with him was also arrested and a baby that was in the car was given to Child Protective Services.

Authorities said Bailey was ordered to stand trial on Feb. 8 in San Francisco Superior Court, but that the judge released him on his own recognizance and put him on home arrest. Oakland investigators said an ankle monitor worn by Bailey placed him at the robbery and assault on Tuesday.

Bailey was apparently free on bail in the San Francisco cases when he was arrested June 27, 2020 by Oakland police in the robberies of an Asian woman and man on Center Street in West Oakland the day before, pushing the woman to the ground and hitting the man in the face before fleeing in a vehicle with their belongings, according to court documents.

Court records show he plead no contest to a lesser charge of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury on Aug. 3 and was given credit for time served in jail and placed on five years probation.

According to the Alameda County court documents, Bailey has five prior felony convictions. Two were for first-degree residential burglary in November of 2013 and January 2013.

He is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at the East County Hall of Justice in Dublin.

It’s not a few street thugs.
Black men are 6.5% of the population and they commit almost 50% of all murders.
They kill whites and Asians and Hispanics in numbers that are far over represented by their populations.
Asians are the highest earning population in America. Because they don’t view themselves as victims. They work. Education is paramount. Family means something.
Blacks? Perpetual victims and Demotards always have a victim booster shot for any black person trying to work his or her way out the ghetto. Why bother? You are a victim. Run that through your hair.
