10 Times NPR Proved It Doesn’t Deserve Another Taxpayer Cent

In a congressional subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, National Public Radio CEO Katherine Maher admitted the outfit’s blackout of the Hunter Biden laptop story was a mistake, acknowledged that NPR’s alleged 87-to-zero ratio of Democrats to Republicans in editorial positions is a “concern,” and stumbled through a defense of her publicly expressed views like “America is addicted to white supremacy” and calling the First Amendment “the number one challenge” to suppressing information.

As Republican members of Congress pointed out, one of NPR’s most infamous displays of corruption was its refusal to cover the Biden family scandal sourced to Hunter Biden’s laptop in the lead-up to the 2020 election.

“We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions,” NPR Managing Editor for News Terence Samuel said in a statement explaining the blackout.

Wednesday’s hearing provided more than enough evidence that the outfit’s generous federal subsidies should be next on DOGE’s chopping block. But in case the Trump administration needs a few more reasons, here are 10 other times NPR proved its propaganda doesn’t deserve another taxpayer dime.

And yet your source, The Federalist, took all that Federal PPP funding.. They must have thought they deserved it.

The Hunter laptop stuff was literally held for months to be dropped purely as an election eve political stunt. It had to be given a wide berth until verified.

NPR however also refused to run stories on the Steele dossier for the same journalistic standards reasons.

The fact is that Republicans are more scandal prone, the party of Boebert, Cruz, Gaetz, Gohmert, Gosar, Greene, Johnson, Palin, Santos, Tuberville, Walker. Democrats generally avoid electing outright conspiracy theorists or people who don’t understand basic government functions. But they do have their share of gaffe machines, ineffective politicians, and people who say ridiculous things, just not in the same league as the GOP.

You should note that NPR was all over the Senator Bob Menéndez story.

Any media receiving federal dollars should be fair and balanced. NPR is extreme left.

Its not, you just consume absolute garbage with no thought of mental hygiene.

NPR is actually quite centrist by international standards. The problem isn't NPR, it's that you've conditioned yourself to consume only validation, not information. You're not seeking truth, you're just repeating comfortable talking points you've held to for years. This is the legacy of the 'Ditto Head' talk radio generation: an inability to engage with reality beyond a narrow ideological bubble. If you want 'fair and balanced,' try applying that standard to your own media diet first.

What was found was that when men like yourself had their outrage feeds cut, very quickly they returned to being the men their families knew from younger days.

    At least it's reversable.

Maher has only been with NPR since March 2024, so dredging up a personal tweet from 2020 as a 'gotcha' is just bad-faith muckraking. People read a lot of books during the pandemic, and not recalling a specific tweet about a passage from five years ago is hardly surprising.

Selectively weaponizing old tweets to manufacture outrage isn’t a serious argument, it’s just an attempt to discredit her without engaging with her actual work at NPR.

He kept bringing up things prior to her appointment and made claims that she said many things without producing evidence.

She wrote them, and they are extreme left material. She should be held accountable.
