I have got a hedge in place in case it goes up for some more time. I just hope I don’t need to pay too long for the hedge.

When the stock is cornered... You sell when it can’t go any higher. And buy when it can’t go any lower... Isn’t it simple ;)
You are going long at higher highs - thats perfect. I don’t know the TF you are trading...but why not get in that small pullback on the way up?...

To know what it means..look at Nifty..great bull market...rally was unstoppable till a few weeks back...mean reverted and see the drop of the past...

Yeah...one can wander around many paths... To get to the centre of things best bet may be to join a prop shop, market maker or a hedge fund..
Agree with your points.... However, to be successful in sales trading you need other skillsets as well...which may not be related to trading...
Exceptions are always there...however for someone who seem to know programming and has already the flair for dabbling in the market may land up...
Do you mean to go countertrend most of the time? Well...that will knock one out sooner or later...and something new traders do very often.
The only problem with sales trading is you will be no better than a salesman. But that may be one way to gain an initial entry...
