the problem is trend following is a flawed premise. regardless of what "seems" to be correct---it is not---- as evidenced in the wildly disparent...
actually, i prefer to trend lead than trend follow in life and trading. :D
it certainly had nothing to do with "trends". just look at charts in the 1990's----lots of trends there ..... LOL ! :D
exactly, trend methods work for some traders, some of the time. buy and hold or sell and hold also works for some traders, some of the time.
what else could it be? if you dont catch the trend,upon entry, it immeddiately results in loses 'cause you are on the wrong side at that...

good point. however, some entry methods can be quantified objectively to an extent. higher highs and higher lows is not one of them.
