What else of this idea? Is there a fundamental flaw in a system that backtests using the bar's close? Is it more likely to incur slippage?
Even a monkey could construct a simple system based on technical analysis, backtest it and show at least a small profit. If it were this easy, why...
Ray, Do you scale into these positions of 16-25?
My ahp = 7 min.
Nope. I shoot all 4 at once. Anybody else care to comment on size? How many can you move?
Yes, and those 8pts are to prevent a runaway breakout. I backtest without stops.
I trade 4 most of the time. Most I've done is 6 ES.

It would seam that the more discretionary I trade, the more I lose/give back. I am working hard to keep it mechanical. discipline... easier...
Thanks... not a few weeks... This is the result of over three years of experimentation. And many, many, many late nights... :D
I am always flat at the end of the day.
My trading plan performs poorly in choppy markets too... but how can you see the chop coming? I can't see chop coming any easier than I can see...
What are some strategies for trading when the market gets choppy? 1.) Tighten stops 2.) Loosen stops 3.) Take losses and ride it...
2 Contracts 1 Trade
I now use a "system" that I created. It gives me entry and exit signals. I have just added stops to my system, 8 ES points.
Got up late and was in the shower when my buy signal hit. Missed out on about 6 grand today...
I agree Publias, see below. (actually on page 6 of this thread)
