i covered OIH and XLE at the open today. No i didnt see the drop coming today...but happy with the results...looking for another long entry.
QQQQ has been in a downtrend since late november tough guy.
I am doing some of my end of the week screening...and i think it was a sypmathy play from china and other asian nations. Toyota held support...
XLE also has a doji formation as well. For the bounces i am also looking to China... LFC was an old favorite of mine that i sold long ago....

I agree especially wiht a 100k trading portfolio. If someone is quite big or an import/export biz..than that type of hedging makes more sense.
They have dropped a ton on high volume (exhustion)..and are sitting at support. My williams %r indicator shows over sold and creeping back up....
depends on many things. I would say OVERALL it is a lousy strategy in a bull market. in a bull you are better off following the biggest...
