$Silver leaving the station

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by countryBoy641, Apr 9, 2024.

  1. For all you challenged swing traders and investors,
I do think this thing will go "like a bottle rocket".
    It has the fundies too.
Regardless of what the Chicoms and the Ruskies do,
    electronics are here to stay.
And almost NONE of it is recycled.
And ever since the days of the Hunt Brothers, the FED has hated $Silver.
So the legend on "the Street" is that the FED's goons (JPM, etc)
are huge "naked short" the silver market.
Very profitable, short the underlying, buy T-Bills with the proceeds.
    Rinse and repeat.
    Unless it goes up.
    Ooops.

The story on the Street had it that what would start the short squeeze
would be one of the big Techie companies realizes that they have
a factory problem, getting the Silver.
So they would buy a silver mine.
Seems that's not going to happen.
Think TSLA, AAPL. But they have their own problems now, lack of growth.
    And interest rates up.
Maybe just a quiet "bottle rocket"
(I have posted this chart before)

Legends are all kinds of fun. Reality is boring but ... is.

Silver recent uptrend started in Mar 2024.
It rises from 23 to 28, ie 22% increase.

    Similarly,
Gold recent uptrend started in Mar 2024.
It rises from 2040 to 2372, ie 16% increase.

    $Silver & $Gold left the station in Mar 2024.
When will they return to the station?

  4. I assume you're rolling in the dough here.
    Maxinger too.

    And I have seen hitters.
    Guys driving//trading Caddy's Jags,
They were running the business in the offices.
A couple of them had a small dealership.
trading balsy cars. ("FU money" before it became famous)

    Long time ago,
I remember the head trader put a crisp $50 bill on the cork board
next to the white board. Years ago maybe 1981.
He says "Next buy trade gets it"
He was just trying to wake everybody up.
Don't know why I posted that. Here, today ??
    :wtf::wtf:

I don't know why you posted that either. Maybe it will come to you someday?

  6. No, I know why I posted it.
    I've been in brokerage.
    I've seen loads of bullsh*ters.
Brokerage is full of them, like mice in a grain solo.
But the guy who runs this MB, doesn't want food fights.
    So I'll just drop it.
    Good luck to you SunTrader.

  8. I have some Morgan Silver Dollars in the kitchen.
They offer different grades (based on wear).
    Mine are pretty sharp still.
    Now in little plastic cases.
Pretty cool to think that was in somebody's hand, pocket, etc way back.
    Most of mine are 1880-1900.

  10. Who's to say "they" will let the paper price go up?

Per the rules, contracts don't have to be settled in silver so the forcing function is gone.

They can just pay you off in dollars they borrow at low cost.

Now, you might see a huge divergence between paper and physical prices, but it going to require scale to capitalize on that.

Meanwhile they can change margin requirements due to "volatility"
