I would approach about $30m - $50m volume per month. So If I could get a discount on volume, that would be great.

How about an actual bank, I know CITI and Deutsche offer FX trading ?

  2. dude, what is your problem. How many more people have to point you to IB. Commission is not everything. Spread, slippage, liquidity, and other considerations are equally important. At the size you indicate IB is by far your best bet. Any single liquidity provider such as banks stink, because they rip off retail clients. Go with an ECN based broker, such as IB or take a look at Dukascopy, or LMAX. This topic has been discussed so many times, RTFF.

    ybfjax and i960 like this.
  3. I don't know if this helps but I switched to currency futures instead of the fx spot market in order to duck the really wide spreads. I use TD Ameritrade and you can expect a 2.5 pip spread on average even in the major pairs. Their commission FX market has a 1/10th of a pip spread in the majors on average but you're paying $1 per $10k lot.

I don't know if futures are your best bet but it helped me.

  4. nonsense, currency futures spreads are wider. At IB you pay on average a 0.2-0.3pip spread to trade EUR. Not sure about liquidity though, I have not looked at currency futures in ages.

I don't think many retail traders move billions through the market, is that a typo ?
