Hello, As a side project I created a free news feed for traders that shows important high impact news events during the day. I scrape several public news feeds and display them as soon as possible, usually a few seconds after the news release. Let me know if you have any ideas to improve it, thanks!!!! https://www.alittlebirdtold.me
Hard to judge ATM, Friday afternoon ahead of a upcoming shortened Holiday trading week. Many take off now. Not much eco news next week. Week after will be a better gauge. BTW page sez it closes in 1 hour and 16 minutes or 300pm NYTime?
Nice clean site. Some news reports appear to be 30-60 seconds after release. Probably not fast enough for day-traders. Wed ... oil > 10:30:33 Thurs ... jobless claims > 08:30:29 Fri ... housing starts > 08:30:50 Didn't confirm this with charts but pretty sure these releases are EXACTLY at *:30* most times. "Events" gets stuck in "Loading Events".
Yeah I'm a few seconds later but pretty close, for most daytraders if you know it within a few seconds it's perfectly fine Fixed the Events loading (it was because there were non left for Today) will push code later thanks!!!
Thanks, it should convert to local times except the NYTime, will check thanks! I also play a sound that you can disable 1 minute before HIGH IMPACT news is coming in.
Interesting; I will try it next week. Not sure scope of news -- e.g., only major economic releases, or also significant corporate news (earnings releases; commentary, etc.) Neither CNBC, nor BLoomberg TV, release even major economic news sans delays. They often run commercials exactly at time of release, but that gives their talking heads time to prep. Besides, the major houses, receive, automatically interpret, & have orders placed within mili-seconds, so for "humans" a few seconds delay will not make significant difference, IMO.
That is patently false. Have you never watched CNBC on stuff like CPI, PPI and FOMC rate decisions? They are Johnny-on-the-spot with them, and then won't shut up about them for 10 minutes after.
Nice project, is it just economic release news? any company news and watchhlists or tagging articles for tickers planned?
