This week was pretty quiet after last week’s poor trading. My exits were poor, the market remains strong and the FTSE added 118 points to set another new 52 week high.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Summary Week Ended Friday 1st February 2013

    7 stock trades:

    3 ANTO – 298.78 BPS

    1 BLT + 8.88 BPS

    3 RBS – 79.33 BPS

    Stocks net – 369.23 BPS

    All long trades, all intraday.

    No index trades.

    I traded 2 days.

    Thoughts

This week was poor, just cannot seem to get out of this losing streak at the moment. My losses were mainly on ANTO, after a trading update. This is not a stock I have traded much, and after this week’s dismal performance, I think I’ll give it a wide berth.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Summary Week Ended Friday 8th February 2013

    3 stock trades:

    1 BLT + 24.97 BPS

    1 STAN + 45.94 BPS

    1 XTA + 19.71 BPS

    Stocks net + 90.62 BPS

All long trades, intraday except STAN.

    No index trades.

    I traded 2.5 days.

    Thoughts

This week was a bit quiet, spent most of my time watching and sitting back, but then where there’s no trade, better to be patient. I also was busy with other stuff.

I am focussing on my ‘Core’ list of stocks, since I have a proven history of trading these stocks profitably.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

This week was volatile, stocks sold off heavily on Monday night, so gaps down on Tuesday, but rallied from there. Missed some good long entries.

Summary Week Ended Friday 8th March 2013

    5 stock trades:

    2 BLT + 15.93 BPS

    3 STAN + 51.17 BPS

    Stocks net + 67.10 BPS

    Index trades:

    4 FTSE + 12.22 BPS

    Total net + 79.32 BPS

Both long and short trades, all intraday.

I traded 5 days this week.

    Thoughts

This week was rather quiet, FTSE & Dax made new 52 week highs, following new all time highs on the Dow. SPX has not made a new high though.

I missed a perfect 1st hour reversal trade on AV this week after they cut the dividend, but then AV isn’t on my watch list. Oh well.

Had a few technical problems this week. Well below my 500 BPS weekly target profit this week. At least I showed a profit every day this week.

Miners have held up, and banks are still in bullish mode.

Friday's Non - farm payrolls beat estimates, markets rallied, then sold off after that.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

    Mo,

I'd always thought that the spreads would be too steep to make daytrading UK stocks profitable, but this is obviously not the case. Could you post a few screenshots of your trades,

    Thanks.

Summary Week Ended Friday 15th March 2013

    10 stock trades:

    1 BARC + 6.44 BPS

    1 BLT + 4.31 BPS

    8 STAN – 420.30 BPS

    Stocks net - 409.30 BPS

Both long and short trades, all intraday.

    4 index trades:

    FTSE + 25.27 BPS

    Net total - 384.28 BPS

    I traded 4 days.

    Thoughts

A poor week’s trading, I made a basic error on STAN on Wednesday, not realising it was ex-div (a whopping 38p) and went long too early, in the process getting stopped out at the low of the day. It was also downgraded. I think I was guilty of 'revenge trading' on STAN. Of course, it recovered the next day..

FTSE & Dax made new 52 week highs, following new all time highs on the Dow. SPX has not made a new high though. FTSE went negative later on Friday.

New of the Cyprus bank ‘bailout’ came out after Friday’s close, so that could be a mover on Monday. I expect gold to do well.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.

Summary Week Ended Friday 22nd March 2013

    17 stock trades:

    4 BARC – 73.88 BPS

    11 BLT - 81.62 BPS

    2 XTA + 105.88 BPS

    Stocks net - 49.62 BPS

    Long trades, intraday & overnight.

    2 index trades:

    FTSE + 2.51 BPS

    Net total - 47.10 BPS

    I traded 5 days.

    Thoughts

A very difficult week, with the market reacting to the news coming from Cyprus.

Miners were very weak, BLT has been down for 8 consecutive days at the close on Friday. That hasn't been seen since August 2011, after which it recovered more than 20% from its low.

I should be thankful that my losses were pretty moderate, less than half of one percent, although I should have been more active on the short side.

    Stay disciplined.

    Stay focussed.
