Bull market . . . where is it coming from

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by countryBoy641, Apr 2, 2024.

  1. The new thought in macro-economics (or just admitted in a momentary brief attack of honesty) is that "oil is life".
The standard swagger "living large" may have been around for centuries (likely only for a select few, e.g. Louis XIV),
but it was J.D. Rockefeller who brought it to the masses.
Imagine what a task it was to mow a hundred (or thousands) acres of wheat (for humans), corn (make protein- cows/chickens).
A strong case can probably be made that J.D. Rock had a big hand in ending slavery.
He definitely "saved the whales" with his discovery of plentiful kerosene
And now machines could tend the fields, running on hydrocarbons NOT human chattel.
Obviously the folks who hate hydrocarbons have never thought of the ramifications.
Or just maybe they have thought it through, and prefer slavery.
    Hmmm.

Now that the U.S. is broke (same with most of the rest of the planet... giant "debt service"),
    now more than ever
    the FED needs Tax collections,
    and the FED needs GDP.
And The FED most of all (and all the Central Banks)
    need OIL.
. . . Just to keep the show running.

I already posted the 40 year chart:

    WTIC_monthly.jpg

Now the breakout is at hand:

    WTIC_weekly.jpg

As for the bull market, seems a lot of the money actually wants to come to the U.S.
    Go Figure.

    And step back:

    IMHO

Humans can't live on bread and water alone, they also need to breathe air that won't kill them or stronger and stronger violent storms destroying coastlines and homes or afford the insurance to protect (we here now in Florida pay the highest in the country) them in their homes or even droughts or floods destroying crops (bread and water) in the fields or .... or ... or ...

But yeah why continue to invest in renewable energy (that is free for the most part after the initial upfront costs) when we can just go on paying Exxon and a bunch of renegade Middle Eastern countries, who for the most part despise us (putting it lightly) and a few socialist ones like Russia and Venezuela.

Meanwhile Texas the great oil state, gets more of their CURRENT energy needs supplied by wind and solar than from coal. Oil is still number one, but renewables are continuing to grow, while non-renewables as a percentage of the overall pie continue to shrink.

At least some in the state can see the future. So are other states and countries around the world. People once said no more horse and buggy thanks to oil, will someday be said no more carbon burning fuels polluting our air, water and especially our lungs thanks to ... gee! what the planet provides naturally the sun, wind, wave action and geothermal.

  3. "In New York, lithium battery fires have killed 13 people so far this year, including four people in a blaze that started in an e-bike store in Chinatown on Tuesday. A total of 23 people have died in battery fires since 2021. This year, there have been 108 fires so far, compared with 98 fires for the same period last year."

If EVs are the fix, the camouflage is sure working very well.
Other, search anywhere "Is Global Warming a Hoax ?",
you will get hundreds of results.
    Some of them are scholarly.
    Like this one:
Climate: The Movie (The Cold Truth) Updated 4K version
Anyone investing real money should be able to discern these differences.

The big problem with energy from windmills, photovoltaics, etc.,
is "energy density" or lack thereof.
The oil business as founded by J.D. Rock is the enormous energy
density of hydrocarbons, which would take a chapter out of
an Organic Chemistry textbook to explain.
Suffice to say "Renewables" don't have it.
    ***
The planet also has huge Uranium deposits, fuel for Nuclear fission.
But totally out of bounds now,
made so by the same folks who are the experts on "Global Warming"
    ***
But as said, I do think human slavery is going to
make a huge rebound here, but maybe not for several decades.
    As Klaus Schwab has said
"You will have nothing and be happy.
    Eat Ze bugs

How a conspiracy theory about eating bugs made its way to international politics

Can't seem to add link from NPR story for some reason?

But amazing how a nonsense rightwingnut meme spins around the globe in no time.

25 years ago, I needed a "day job".
So I taught myself some "development skills", (programming).
    I became a Javascript mechanic.
Along the way, I also found out that any serious textbook is junk if it contains errors, or worse a any political slants.
I avoided those publishers like the plague.
I put NPR in the same category.
Publishers like "O'Reilly" are more expensive, but the only ones to spend time with.

So outta sight, outta mind. If it doesn't fit the agenda. Stay ignorant.

BTW O'Reilly, who I used to watch ocassionally, says himself for a loooong time, he is not a journalist, he is a opinion giver.

  8. OMG, not Bill O'reilly,

    O'Reilly Publishing.

    Apparently still the best.
Really neat graphics of fauna on all the covers (at least used to be).

  9. %%
NPR, if they cant find any racism, they just make some up\ or go back to the civil war.
Even worse they love to whine about anything interview whiners. LOL:D:D
    On a more positive note , all that bias enables IBD, MRC, CBN News, SRN;
I used to watch FOX TV-Dr Robert Jeffrys+ FOX internet, but had too many tech attacks after they took Tucker off. NOt blaming tucker for that LOL:D:D
Shareholders sure blamed BP for green energy goofs + punished \sold BP for that:caution::caution:

  10. I shouldn't have used the word "political".
Better word would be "agenda" meaning a specific vested interest.
That includes the majority of "news" outlets.
