Looks like the Accell DisplayPort MST hubs are out of stock now, only brand left with any in stock is Club3D from newegg. (Limit 2 per customer). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814997003
After some contemplation, I'm pretty sure I can run six high resolution displays, as only one mini displayport will be used by the hub on each card. That leaves another mini displayport, the hdmi, and dvi, so three high resolution monitors per card. I'm rather impressed with what these gaming cards can do, for so little money.
Looks like none of the setups can really run anything beyond the crippled 16:9 1080 monitors. Displayport 1.3 is way out, Displayport 1.2 took close to 5 years to produce anything past vaporware stage. If one wants to make money for living, one doesn't buy tools from Horror Freight. Get yourself Matrox or a cheaper NVIDIA NVS cards and run fewer higher quality monitors. 3-4 27" 1440x2560 monitors in Portrait mode will have more useful info and burn fewer energy bills. And I can attest to the heat issue from cool LCD big panels in summer. I am currently on 4 x HP ZR2740w and looking for ways to optimize everything I need into one. CQG for charting and Photon Trader for execution. Good luck!
Those nice 27 inch displays weren't out when I got my 30 inch displays, or I'd have considered them. Oh well. My setup looks pretty nice, but the third row is kinda hard to see up top. I may get an eye ache using them, lol. I've got to wait until friday to get the last 2 monitors working, as my usb displaylink adapters are refusing to run more than 4 total right now. No idea why.
I'm aware that the original poster already has his hardware, but, for anyone else who thinks they'd benefit from that many pixels, you might want to consider the cheap 3840x2160 @ 30Hz televisions. Each of these displays has four times as many pixels as a 1920x1080 display. I made a more detailed post on this topic at http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3851511#post3851511 .
