Love how they label it a "tiny fee".

Well, that 10 basis points is not only a fee that would hit every single worker with a pension, 401k, IRA, etc when they bought or rebalanced, but it's also less money that can compound over time for those saving for retirement.

Making people even more dependent on the government over the long term.

So I'm assuming this "tiny fee" would hit futures, options and forex right?

Write your congressman/woman and let them know this will have a negative impact on wealth creation and retirement for the middle class.

Regardless of party affiliation or who your Rep is (even the Pelosi's and Van Hollen's, etc) need to know you're not happy with this garbage.

The dems would eat their own excrement to regain & sustain power, however this time around they are convinced its the middle class who want to eat it, that's right, tax breaks financed straight out of your 401k and a plethora of increased prices economy wide as this lunacy impacts steps in the product and service chain the average American does not even know exist.

Of course the proposals will be quite modest at the start and then, taking inspiration from the EU they will get all authoritarian up on those traders behinds! We will tax them if they relocate and trade from Luxembourg or Mars! Our calculations state that this small tax alone will increase economic growth by 70% and raise seven hundred million billion trillion Dr Evil dollars a year, on year!

It was only so long until an idiot in the right place to make waves came along on that side of the pond, thank god for those with sense along side them.

Its clear the government model of buying votes with the peoples own money is never going to change however, whatever the specific tax may be.
