Not belittling this woman's achievement but only a tool like Cramer would declare her or any other innovator as "the next Steve Jobs.". Not every new genius is the next Einstein, and not every new entrepreneur is the next Jobs or Gates. Cramer needs to take a long vacation ... or retirement.
What he meant is she has a revolutionary product/idea that will change medicine -- in the same way Jobs changed the tech business. Its called marketing. Nothing wrong with that!
This must be the crown jewel of the bubble, not one single doubt about it. Check out when she is being asked how this "technology" benefits consumers, her answer: It empowers the consumer. WTF?!? Long story short, this is nothing else but less blood drawn. Yes, thats it. What is revolutionary about this, and how can someone be a billionaire based on a better way to take a blood test? You gotta be kidding me.
There is a lot of hype with Theranos. If they live up to the hype, then all those medical labs (Lab Corp, Quest Diagnostics) are going bust. I think it would be bad for Stericycle as well. And also say goodbye to this Indian woman's lab biz prominently profiled in Forbes a couple months ago. http://www.forbes.com/sites/anuragh...bs-pushes-for-growth-across-india-and-africa/
another victim of the marketing machinery that is in full swing in Silicon Valley. Billions? 9 billion of a non public company with hardly any market share?
in my eyes this girl is just a marketing puppy. and her voice is like a man's. but she looks sweet and I wouldn't throw her out of my bed either "(in 2014)... the company was valued at $9 billion. As a 50 percent owner of the company, Holmes became the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world in 2014." yes, and currently my butt is valued at 10$ billion and since I hold 100% of the shares, I'm richer than her really, these are just numbers. most likely the company has a negative cashflow and no profits at all. hyped ad extremum. as long as they don't sell their hype it's a meaningless number.
Raising $400 Million for ANYTHING is a pretty amazing achievement, so there must be some truly disruptive technology here.
