How can we ignore specific threads?

There is a poster on ET who doesn't even day trade yet he has his own vision of how everybody should manage their trades. I'm tired of seeing his threads and posts when he invades others threads. I can put him on ignore but his threads still show up. He's on a big ego narcissistic trip and doesn't have any real world experience of what the hell he is even talking about. How can I get his threads on ignore so I don't have to see them? It would be an awesome relief to be able to do so.

But I see the title of the threads. They make me want to puke.

    Brother Giant...
If you are so disgusted with someone on this website that you can't even stand to glimpse at his threads, I really don't understand how you can tolerate the pressures of trading.
But, let's say you like looking thru the "Journals" forum.
    Click on "Journals".
Every thread starter is listed under the title of the thread.
    Maybe that will help.
Many others have requested this "feature" in the past.
I doubt it will be implemented.
And, there's really not a solid reason to do so.
    Good luck.

I would recommend just placing that member on "ignore". I believe that is what that feature is for and should be used.

Do you mean you can mentally put him on ignore? Because we actually have an ignore function so that his threads and posts won't show up. Click on his username in one of his posts and then click "Ignore" in the pop-up window that follows.

    Hi Baron,

Maybe there's a glitch in the system and that's why GiantDog had asked the question.

For myself, those I have on my ignore list in my profile...I can still see any threads they've started. Thus, if they start a new thread and I then click on the thread without knowing that person on my ignore list had started the thread...I can still read any replies in that thread but I can not see the thread starter.

Thus, essentially I begin reading a thread that doesn't make any sense in the replies by others until someone quotes the thread starter...only then do I realize the thread is started by someone on my ignore list.

In contrast in the past, those on my ignore list...I didn't see any of their threads that was started by them.

Like wrbtrader says, you can put a poster on ignore but his threads still appear.

Hopefully the new forum design for the ignore list isn't intentional and its just a glitch that Baron is trying to fix.

Essentially the ignore list is worthless.

We can put folks on ignore but their threads are not on ignore. Worst, if they start new threads...we can see those threads and not understand any conversation in those threads nor will we know someone on our ignore list has started that thread until someone in the thread "quotes" the person on our ignore list.

In contrast, the prior forum design...those on our ignore list...we were not able to see their threads.

I just don't get it, even after as long as I have been here.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ WHAT SOMEBODY SAYS, JUST DON'T READ IT.
