ES is manipulated?

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by hurricane_sh, Jun 21, 2016.

  1. I always feel that es can be manipulated, especially outside the regular trading hours, some people can move the price as they like. And the feeling is getting increasing stronger recently.

I also think some smart traders can predict most moves. :D

Just for fun, no serious discussions in this thread please.

Better q: When is ES not manipulated? Inserting smiley here for fun ---> :D

  3. So, you feel that ES is manipulated? What is this feeling based on and why is it getting stronger?

Seems like it's just a feeling, yes?

  4. When I'm on the right side. :D
Just a feeling, maybe I've been wrong more than before. :D

All our trades are predictions, so unless one wants to lose money, most traders are going for bucks. If you have done enough back testing to develop good Trading Plan, you have clearer probabilities of each signal with whatever risk management rules in place. And if you dove into price even more and fine tuned where during new, existing, lengthy trend signals developed, you have sub graphs of #1a,b,c, #2a,b,c and on depending on how many entry signals one has and get many more stats.

ES being choppy market, at least to me it is controlled more times than not, most that trade it either don't know or remember that ES is like a double Hedge, Cash Index then individual stocks of the Index.

I think more experienced one is based on the way they trade based on probabilities trade fine to make you think it is magic dust.

ES is 250 lots per tick. Do you think it's manipulated ?
Then what ? You move it 4 ticks ? It's 50K and then the market reverts ?
IMHO there is no intrinsic value ... So there is no manipulation.
In addition you must be ... A chartist. What's that ?
Someone that takes, prices as inputs.

You're happy during the third move (Mania) of a bull.
You're happy during the third move (Panic) of a bear.
It's "manipulation" too. That's asymmetrically flawed.

    Stop yer filthy manipulation!

  9. If you can push the price 4 points higher, not to mention 4 ticks, the bids will be filled up immediately, you can take your time to close your positions at good prices. I always find that amazing.

So you expect to close your 4k lots above your average price (+2Pts) ? Which is 2K lots within 2Pts ? I wouldn't do that. Seems like you're used to. Glad for you.
