Not the nicest trade overall, but a smart one. However I'm net short eth overall now (marginally). Still losing money but less than 10% rather than multiples of. A true shitstorm, I'll try to trade it the best I can. Hopefully waves and peer plays come through.
LTC should rally hard in a BTC breakout. The historical peak ratio is, I believe, about 0.05 (2013 spring and fall BTC rallies). I'm flat ETH/ETHBTC currently.
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/exclusive-full-interview-transcript-alleged-dao-attacker/ The DAO hack was a BTC maximalist conspiracy!
Waves starts trading in a few hours (00:00 PDT) on Bittrex. Being on the EC of USA, these nocturnal hours can be tough.
....sold 7000 and recouped my initial cost plus a little over $100. I'm left with 2548.7914998 'waves.' It would have been nice for a higher price (say $1), and indeed the price might go there over the next couple of days. But this being my first ICO and with limited info on comparable ICO trading, I'll take it cautiously.... I was looking to invest in upcoming DAO projects like Wings and Akasha, but I guess they are now washes after the hack.
Dumped the rest of the Waves. Up about a BTC on the trade. Would have loved to see 5x-20x. I guess everybody would have hence the ICO over investment. -I would rather buy for the long-term after it has established a base (higher or lower) and has tangible deals in the pipeline and it trades at other better known exchanges. (like buying ETH at $2.40ish) -I don't know how these ICOs trade. Better safe than sorry.
Been quite an adventure the last few days. The white hat attack on the dao has caused eth to rally and the dao discount to tighten. I'd love to get involved with waves trading but I can't access them, off on holiday with only my mobile phone and a limited amount of my stake on exchanges. Took full advantage of the circle app on my phone to transfer more fiat in instantly. I'd recommend looking into it, the fees were less than 1%. Things seem to have cleared up, I think eth has the potential to show some real strength here given the developers all coming together and defending against any further attacks, the price has shown it. Not to mention the white hat attack was exponentially more aggressive. Weathered the storm? Maybe
I have a small short on ETH at a loss which I am not fretting. I may add to it. ETH might appeal to futurists but ultimately be quixotic. I don't know. Not to brag but my main crypto trading account is up about 81% over the last few weeks (since my last deposit). And that is why I love crypto.
BTC. Another busted mo' move. I am looking forward to trying out some new crypto arb strategies in the coming weeks. Seek and ye shall find.
-keen on the next Urbit (http://urbit.org) crowdsale whenever that is -Sfox.com has a nifty algo that searches for the best price amongst multiple exchanges
