I think what you are really saying is that you are not like anyone else. The only real place to start is to empty out everything and start from scratch. There are thousands of things to trade and a thousand ways to trade it. Not using TA's may be your thing. Keep going with that. Maybe the Dax is not your thing. Keep looking. Trust. You'll find it. And when you do, you'll know.

Allot of traders will agree with your statement, (in blue) yet you would like to triumph over it, "NO" ?
This index is by far the most difficult to trade it will take anyone time to understand: it's daily range it's constituents, what announcements it's responds too, what amount and when the volume really means some thing, which patterns work and which don't. This is my take as I am a chartist. Then there is trading via level 2 DOM method that takes some training but as I understand it is for scalping.

I think he finally listen to the key advice that he needed to backtest his trade method on many different trading instrument to determine which trading instrument his trade method performs the best on because he's been discussing the Emini ES futures in other threads recently along implying he's profitable.

Yet, I'm not sure because he did reply in this thread that he didn't know how to go about backtesting and that in itself implies he was trading the Eurex DAX futures with a trade method that has not been properly tested.

Anyways...looks like everything is ok now for him in the Emini ES futures...hopefully it'll last and that he switched trading instruments because he tested his trading instrument and discovered it performs better on the Emini ES than the Eurex DAX instead of switching to something because is a popular forum discussion or popular advertised market by brokers.

I've never met or heard of anyone that is consistent in trading the DAX, only heard of those that lose.
I can only imagine what it takes to be consistent, this animal is very very difference to the rest.
You have to be even better than the rest to be consistent at this one.
That fact that it's so thin is a warning in itself, it seems the ones who trade it dream of catching the huge and sudden runs it can make. I've seen 650 pts in 1-2 sessions one way.

I trade Brent futures in my LIVE account but haven been thinking of going live in DAX as well.. my take on DAX is to see if the market has volatility or not. I prefer to trade on only on the high volatile days. Yesterday, right after the ECB's rate cut decision every market related to Europe has to be volatile. So expecting the volatility to be high I started trading DAX with couple of lots.

I just use Triangular moving average on 100VolumeBar charts and trade only in the direction of the moving average.
I use stellar trading systems as my platform.
I am even adding the trades which I have taken today so far.

  6. Have been watching the dax for about 1yr now. Am about to go live within the next month or so. My platform is Ninja with CQG data and clearing through AMP at present. I have actually done a few live trades but only when everything lines up. From what i see, its best to wait 1hr after open and trade after the cash market opens. We post some pics of some trades latter on.

  7. 3 trades 1 short and 1 long, on sim101. Using order flow and volume imbalances. Trade management is always when first target hit , stop moved to breakeven for second contract. Total for the trades is $1050.

I started trading a new account on Apr 21, after trading an earlier account for six months, the results of which I have already posted. At present, I'm at 52 wins no losses. Proof of trades are shown on my YouTube channel, Dax Index Trader, videos 1-14. I only trade the Dax. I understand how it moves. I only use one proprietary indicator. These factors I'm sure contribute to my success. Trading is boring. Just do the same thing. But keep any single loss BELOW 3%. My largest loss in my previous account was -01.685%. Always keep tight records, and never have any loss (drawdown) over your limit. Never trade when your tired or emotionally on edge. Love what you do, success follows.
