No millennials are calling for socialism as defined by Marks and Friedrich Engels, but more like what they have currently worked out in the Netherlands and Denmark.
This generation is more worldly than any in the past because of access to information, but lacks recent memory of fascism, communism, depression, and real war with enemies who shoot back with comparable weaponry.
This generation is the least worldly in decades. Having 500 Facebook friends doesn't make you worldly. Twitter doesn't make you worldly. Surfing the net doesn't make you worldly. These f'n dopes don't have a clue what the hell is going on in the real world and most haven't been anywhere other than Starbucks and the Mall.
Facebook is no substitute for human contact, but the Internet give these kids a chance to exchange views with ordinary people everywhere in the world. All my generation had was magazines and the local newspaper feeding us one version or another of the sanctioned point of views.
True to some degree, but the internet can be a bubble of like minded people telling each other how smart they are, and anyone with an opposing position is either not taken seriously or attacked. Gee, where I have seen that before?
One of my nephews, late 20's, is all for Bernie. When I asked why, he cited "free" medical care. Of course, when I asked how Bernie would pay for that, he didn't have an answer. IMO the millenials are just like any other generation with their ample share of idiots.
He was probably thinking, "how damn dumb, taxes will pay for it. Do I tell uncle Arnie that out loud tho? Nah."
