Where the fook are you guys? My trading account hit a new 52 week high this week, even though it is below my all time high. Fight like hell! That's all we can do. Well, that's all us working class poor can do. How about the rest of you? Are you doing well? Hopefully I can join you guys who are rich. Here's something random for you - a video about vindaloo in England:

  2. Location of the day. Kentucky Lake. Just spent a week there. Nice and serene. Land Between the Lakes is spectacular with lots of wildlife to see. If you like nature walks you'll love this area.

Just looked it up on Google maps - it looks like a really wide river.

BTW, I'm originally from Kentucky, the Appalachian region no less. Bell County, which neighbors Harlan County of "Bloody Harlan" infamy.

I haven't been there since 1984. I often think of returning, but only if I don't need to get a job. Back when I lived there, the only jobs were coal mining jobs, and they are all but gone now. I like to imagine living there on a large farm with no railroad nearby. The home I grew up in was about 1/4 away from a railroad line and when the coal trains came by, it rattled the house.

If I were rich enough to buy a farm, I could isolate myself there and spend the rest of my life reading and writing.

BTW, the noise of the night insects in the forest there are deafening. Probably louder than the roar of a jet engine. You become acclimated to it, though. You only notice it when you want to.

Am I the last Randomista? Where the fook are you guys?

We are getting ready to enter a period of low but rising interest rates. That is the most bullish scenario that stocks can ever have. China's economy can tank, Putin can deploy his army and navy, but stocks will rise in good, slow, steady fashion. I think the best strategy for the near future is value investing, as opposed to momo trading, so I have a list of stocks near their 52 week lows that I am ready to pounce on.

The next time Captain Obvious takes a wilderness vacation, he must take all of us Randomistas with him so that we can sit around the campfire and discuss philosophy.

Damb. I check this thread every weekend, but it looks like it has been abandoned. Check in and say hello!

I finally have enough money in my bank account that I can transfer enough to my broker to keep me comfortably above the $25k required to allow pattern day trading. Wanna know something, though? I'm too fucking scared to do it. I've gotten used to having a large pad of cash in my bank for emergencies, and I don't want to move it out. Before I head out to the bars on the weekend, I always look at my bank account and make sure I've been saving enough before I go.

What's even weirder about this is that I was a pretty good daytrader before the SEC clamped down on the 25K rule. It wasn't a lot of money that I made, but it was a hell of a lot of profitable trades. Well over 90% if I remember correctly, but it was tiny amounts of profit per trade. I was basically scalping the spread and doing pretty good at it. So why am I scared to go back now? It's been many years. But I scanned through a list of stocks that would be good for my style of daytrading, and they still exist after all this time. (Unlike OEX options which have dried up in liquidity. Those things used to have a spread of a teeny and had lively bids. No more. Fuck 'em. Don't need OEX options anyway.)

Anyway, I miss you guys and we should all get together with Cap Obvious for a Kentucky retreat someday.

I have generally not noticed in the spring time birds making same damn noise over and over and over again. LOL, in a way it is like day trading, doing same things over and over and over again.
