I try to help everyone I can learn to trade with success so they enjoy it.
It helps me firm up my system in my own mind teaching it to others.
It gives me more playmates in the sandbox.
And it makes me a better trader.
There is nothing in life more satisfying than helping people.

Why, someone as yourself who admits they don't/can't day trade, do you continuously knock day trading and those who make a great living doing it ? You claim you aren't anti-day trading, but yet you pop all over ET trying to bash it. You do realize this is a trading site correct?

Congrats on making money day trading in the 90's. I would say 80% of the people I know who day traded during those easy times did well. I guess you can be grouped in with the ones who flamed out when things got tough and one actually had to have some skill to continue to succeed.

That trading was RIDICUOUSLY easier back then. As you later learned when you failed. Those who actually had skill lasted.

Actually Surf, you aren't still standing. You tried day trading and got obliterated. Like the other guys on here who also failed. But they moved on, while you keep blabbing away.

I sit here and read his posts (he's everywhere, so there is really no choice other than to "ignore" him and I'm trying to avoid using that feature) and I wonder to myself what is it he is getting out of his participation here? I guess he gets some sort of enjoyment from his "blabbing away." The irony of my not wanting to use the ignore feature is that I find myself "ignoring" ET for days at a time. I would imagine that such behavior as marketsurfer's is not all that conducive to strengthening an online trading community. But then again, what do I know? I'm just a trader.

Wow a rolex and a corvette. You must have crushed it. Are you sure it was 1992 and not 1972 ?

A frigging Corvette and you were called egocentric ????? Wow....that is beyond hilarious. You do realize the money people made in the mid 90's trading right ? A corvette ??? Please stop. This post of yours is throwing about 100 fastballs down the middle.

I too am trying to not use the ignore feature. Plus with guys like Surf it doesn't matter. Their bullshit is spewed everywhere and gets requoted when other guys call him out.

He is like a 14 yr old kid starving for attention, they will do anything.

He brings nothing to ET except clogging the place up with his bs. I too wonder why the hell I post on here anymore as guys like Surf have driven a lot of the good guys away. But I posted and messaged with some cool guys here, and Baron is a good guy so, so I continue. But man...you read some of the crap on here and it does make you wonder.

  9. Surf how long did it take you to turn the corner and go from train wreck to a consistently profitable intra-day trader? Do you trade discretionary, systematic, or a mix of both?

I'd love to hear your story. Despite the crap that you get on this forum, you are one of the few that seems to have weathered the true test of time...

Call me old fashioned, or close-minded...but I kind of feel that there are two kinds of people in this world: the Do'ers and the Teachers. ...with the latter teaching, because they can't do.
