It's not that I'm doing anything poorly, I just want expand my trading playbook. And yes I have a couple of mentors. One of them is a x floor trader, he now has a wealth management firm.
Basically you're saying that your current mentors are not able to help you expand into an area of trading you're interested in getting involved with and you need to add another one to your team. I'm now curious what it is that's missing in your trading ?
I am intrigued by the thought process of "experienced" traders" in relation to "mentors"! If a person can make X amount of money trading, why does that person think that "listening" to what someone else has to say will enable them to attain 2X, 3X, 5X, or whatever multiple is in their mind. Would it not be better to spend the money (as I take it that mentors charge) on improving ones trading - by trading! If a person has any information of "real value", would they share it with others and reduce its value! No disrespect to the OP - just a general remark. J_S
I'm not interested in if mentors are good/bad, value/no value or what happens when that value info is shared...those types of discussions almost always lead to debates. I'm just interested in knowing what is missing from his trading considering he's a well rounded trader, experienced traders that's trading in a work environment that seems supportive of what he's doing. Most traders do not have such a supportive environment at work or even those trading from home. Hopefully, the thread doesn't turn into "lets talk about mentors" and instead talk about what he's looking for now in his trading that he feels is lacking. Details please about what's lacking in his trading. P.S. Crazy gap down in the Emini Futures on Sunday's open and crazier price actions in other key markets. Yep, its Greece info.
