Yields Surge As Stunned Traders Learn Biden To Propose Massive $2 Trillion Stimulus

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Scataphagos, Jan 14, 2021.

  1. Supposedly to include $2,000 check to citizens. Yea! (??)

With 330MM people in US.... if every man, woman, and child received $2,000... that's only $660B. Where is the other $1.4T going?

    :(

For the record, these stimulus payments do not go to every American. However, the proposed stimulus is somewhere between 200 and 400 billion depending on if these payments are a full $2000 or $1400 to make the last $600 stimulus reach $2000.

Make no mistake, this would still be a massive stimulus.

This is going to make Boomers heads spin: There is also a real question of is inflation even a thing anymore?

  3. You're missing the point of the OP. Why do we need a 2 trillion dollar package to deliver a few hundred billion in stimulus checks? BTW, I support sending these checks to people in need. I support financial assistance for businesses that have been restricted or closed. That doesn't take 2 trillion though. Not even close.

  4. Not to every person, in many cases it is to households. Still a large sum but mostly a bandaid....

Democrats also support things like state and local funding, more federal involvement in vaccine roll out, Biden also has ambitious of opening every school within 100 days, and of course democrats like to use the government for things like investing in clean energy etc.

We will find out today what Biden’s ambitions are with this. I’d like to see direct investments though, not just money handouts.

Yes lot’s of blue state liability from retired overpaid state workers, need to bailout those pension funds.

Im guessing you’re a guy who talks more than he listens, am I right?

  8. I do not have much of an issue with any of what you listed, but I would like to see a line item breakdown of every single dollar being spent, and we're long past overdue a presidential line item veto being put in place.

You are all about to pay for those fat pensions in California, Illinois and every other bloated leftist urban area in America. That worked out well for those states and for the fat pensioners.

No need to balance your state budget or fund your state pension liability, the citizens of all the other states will pick up the tab.

Apparently COVID caused 30 years of unfunded pension liability. That is some virus.

    Suckers.

This why you are a Trumper, you don’t know what you’re talking about but just have to talk anyway. No facts, no evidence just uninformed talking points.
