Why it's pointless to debate climate change with dumb Conservatives

They have not yet reached consensus on evolution, far from it - they are furiously trying to deny the 'liberal' propaganda.

What does anything in this article have to do with "Climate Change".

Most of the "deniers" of Climate Change are people with scientific backgrounds who looked at the evidence from the global warming alarmists - and determined that AGW is not proven and the 'science' put forward by the promoters basically undermines the integrity of the entire scientific community.

The "deniers" include scientific Nobel prize winners and the heads of Climate Departments at major U.S. science universities such as Georgia Tech (Dr. Judith Curry) and MIT.

Very few "deniers" support things such as 'intelligent design' or 'creationism'. You trying to tie this nonsense to the rejection of AGW simply demonstrates how far you have diverged from reality.

exgoper... you are on the side of propaganda not science

does science have proof man made co2 causes warming.
does science have any proof that non life evolved in life here on earth?
does science even have a complete plausible pathway.

If you were on the side of science you would know that once life was formed there has been evolution but there is no proof that life evolved from non life here on earth.

So stop mixing propaganda and science you leftists have polluted science enough already.

    March 28, 2012

    The Honorable Charles Bolden, Jr.
    NASA Administrator
    NASA Headquarters
    Washington, D.C. 20546-0001

    Dear Charlie,

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) refrain from including unproven remarks in public releases and websites. We believe the claims by NASA and GISS, that man-made carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data. With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.

The unbridled advocacy of CO2 being the major cause of climate change is unbecoming of NASA’s history of making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.

As former NASA employees, we feel that NASA’s advocacy of an extreme position, prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers is inappropriate. We request that NASA refrain from including unproven and unsupported remarks in its future releases and websites on this subject. At risk is damage to the exemplary reputation of NASA, NASA’s current or former scientists and employees, and even the reputation of science itself.

For additional information regarding the science behind our concern, we recommend that you contact Harrison Schmitt or Walter Cunningham, or others they can recommend to you.

Thank you for considering this request.

    Sincerely,

    (Attached signatures)

Ref: Letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, dated 3-26-12, regarding a request for NASA to refrain from making unsubstantiated claims that human produced CO2 is having a catastrophic impact on climate change.

  5. Yeah most conservatives are just plain stupid. See the two posters immediately above.

  6. One example of just how fucking stupid they are.......they put up this guy as a credible voice denying AGW....

Gerard C. Shows – JSC, Asst. Manager, Quality Assurance, 30 years

I mean , he's an ASSISTANT MANGER OF QUALITY CONTROL !!!!! 30 years!!! It doesn't get much more authoritative than that! Stop the presses! AGW must be wrong. Gerard say so!

And they are actually so fucking stupid as to put this up as if it means anything. It's actually funny.

On that last one, viz., "does science even have a complete plausible pathway" the progress is nothing short of amazing!

I was quite certain that we would be able to create simple organisms starting with inanimate "chemical building blocks" in the laboratory within the present century, and possibly even in my lifetime. It now appears that we may do it in the next few decades! It is truly amazing. Great progress here.

they simply signed the letter troll.

and apparently science won out because NASA got rid of the agw nutter Hansen, soon there after.

Then NASA started putting out science about CO2 being a coolant.

    http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/22mar_saber/

Mlynczak is the associate principal investigator for the SABER instrument onboard NASA’s TIMED satellite. SABER monitors infrared emissions from Earth’s upper atmosphere, in particular from carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitric oxide (NO), two substances that play a key role in the energy balance of air hundreds of km above our planet’s surface.
“Carbon dioxide and nitric oxide are natural thermostats,” explains James Russell of Hampton University, SABER’s principal investigator. “When the upper atmosphere (or ‘thermosphere’) heats up, these molecules try as hard as they can to shed that heat back into space.”
That’s what happened on March 8th when a coronal mass ejection (CME) propelled in our direction by an X5-class solar flare hit Earth’s magnetic field. (On the “Richter Scale of Solar Flares,” X-class flares are the most powerful kind.) Energetic particles rained down on the upper atmosphere, depositing their energy where they hit. The action produced spectacular auroras around the poles and significant1 upper atmospheric heating all around the globe.
“The thermosphere lit up like a Christmas tree,” says Russell. “It began to glow intensely at infrared wavelengths as the thermostat effect kicked in.”
For the three day period, March 8th through 10th, the thermosphere absorbed 26 billion kWh of energy. Infrared radiation from CO2 and NO, the two most efficient coolants in the thermosphere, re-radiated 95% of that total back into space.

when they do it, cool... I have no problem with real science. I have a problem with propaganda.
