Any indications (detailed explanation not necessary) and comparisons re strenghs and weaknesses of:

    X-Trader (basic)
    Ninja
    Strategy Runner?

    Any experiences?

Specifically, I'm looking for the best re scalping DAX, Stoxx and Bund futures.

    Thank you.

    RCJ,

I am familiar with Button Trader. Do you know how it compares with the others?

The problem is its limited compatability.

Grant ... No, i dont. I havent used the others you listed. But, i have gone over some of the docs a bit.

BT offers quite a bit in strategy building and visual testing for example. Tick charts only. They appear side by side with the DOM/trading grid. Very fast execution and rock solid.
Developer lives in NL, trades the DAX among others.

BTW...if you havent already, you might take a close look at the
BT reference manual(not the user manual)

Grant, what do you need that BT doesnt offer?? Might give other posters some clues about what would work for you.

    RJ,

    Thank you for the reply.

“Very fast execution and rock solid”. I think that just about covers it, really: as I said originally, my interest is in scalping so executing multi-leg option spreads, for example isn’t necessary

My only reservation is IB’s “snap shot” price quotes rather than every tick. I can’t judge how significant this is – it doesn’t seem to deter the many users on ET. Presumably, if I maintain my current feed it isn’t an issue, but BT ‘s dependence on IB could be.

Velocity Futures offers all the platforms - X-Trader (basic), Ninja and Strategy Runner. This is the reason for the original question (I’m considering opening an account with Velocity). The difference in comm’s – for small lots – between Velocity and IB is minor, but there is a big gap in margin requirements. For example, DAX intra-day at c £5000 with IB, just over £1,200 for Velocity (note these are pound sterling).

If ButtonTrader is better, IB may be preferable to Velocity; if an alternative is better, eg X-Trader, it could be Velocity (unless there is anyone else I should consider).

Author have another problems ,which eliminate advantage
this or another paltforms, and if you would trade you
would meet this problem alsov -conflict with broker and
conflict resolution by goverment authorities .

Openecry ,T4 are both .net based ,that is dissadvantage
against paltform without .net in point of stability. But one
platform (trademaven, real time demo offered through trademaven ,pfg, jrfuture -under name fast) ,which is more stable dissadvantaged with multiple problems with clearing.

OEC with Esignal from test was visible faster as OEC with OECD

Dorman used for T4 equal datafeed as for NJ ,in this case
t4 is better ,as need only 5.6 mb to downloading(offered through
    multiple brokers -see cts side)

    OEC is 4 $ r/t (all included)

    Dorman offer 0.5$ broker fees + 0.5$ t4 fees = 1 $
    per side (+ exchange fees)

CTS stated ,that datafeed is comparable speedy to TT datafeed
X-trader has not impressed the author (GF offered 0.69$
per side +subscription fees +exchange fees)
X-trader loved from ET nitro ,you can ask he'm
