Hello, I'm an Italian resident but I'm an U.S. citizen. I wanted to start doing some online trading but I couldn't manage to understand what was the best broker online that was open to non-U.S. residents. I wanted to invest a little amount of money (around 2000$) because I'm 19 and I still don't have a lot of money (and I'm not going to put all of my money in) so I needed a broker that had not too high fees and in which I could operate from Italy. Anyway I would operate mostly with U.S. stocks and not italian, so the problem would be only the residency and not the amount of italian stocks I could purchase. Thank you a lot for the help
What the heck? Pack your bags and tour Europe. Don't waste your time investing right now. And, Europe is cheap.
Hello Nanni: You could take a look at the below articles. They at least give you a good group of brokers to select from. Just watch out for monthly fees and trades minimum requirements. Interactive Brokers is a good example of that. IB is only for active traders. For you Fidelity might be a good choice since they do have low commissions and no monthly fees. And they have excellent online research capabilities for stocks which is important. I do not know what their residency requirements are.
