What it takes to be a specialist

  1. I don't know how true this is but I heard in order to be considered to be a specialist you must be a convicted rapist. Does anyone feel this is true or have any evidence to back this. Also I heard if you stole from your parents it's a big plus.

  2. I see you had one of "those days"

  3. The most important thing is:
You have to be able to get away with it.

This is one of the reasons that most new hire in Wall Street need to be finger-printed, and have a background check. If you have been convicted, you are NOT qualified.

    :D :D :D

  4. Did you see the blood stains on the corner of wall and broad St. Those are from my ass after the fill I got on a stop order. I was ass raped so bad I wont be able to sit for a week. Man did it hurt

  5. what happened?

  6. Hey, whoever is looking for a specialist. Please drop me a line. I am working out to make myself faster, stronger, and enduring longer so that I can fit the job.

    Thanks.

    :p

  7. yester day I started scaling into IBM after lunch I was long 4700 shares at an average cost of 85.98 I got stoped at 83.74 2 weeks pay gone on one overnight position. My ass hurts.

  8. How about more slimy ???

    :p :p :p

  9. well first of all that will teach ya not to carry so much risk overnight on a assumption...

  10. But what did the speacialist do? You got filled at the HOD, unless my quotes are wrong.

  11. Quote from qdz2:

What you need to focus on is learning to steal from your mother and then raping her. If you could do that I will give you a contact at LaBranche & CO

  12. what are you complaining about? you got the best price of the day. plus you could of sold ah last night in the 85s. i dont think the specialist did anything wrong in this case.

    TAR HEELS!

He had a position and lost money so he gaped it further then he had to so he could average down and monday he will unload it. When they lose they average down and drop the bid so they can pick up more stock at a better price. IBM is notorious for it. The specialist makes 10 mil a year on that stock.

  14. I bet monday he hits 84 a share.

The way I see it is the specialist is always wrong and he owes me money.

  16. THE WAY I SEE IT WE WILL SEE $76.00 ON IBM SOON

  17. There is nothing wrong with hating the specialist - even if your reason is capricious. :D

Its a closed system that needs to be opened up to competition so that it starts reflecting true market based price discovery.

  18. A couple of things:

    1. If your so sure of this, I hope you bot on the close to particpate with him.

    2. I guess every MM for MSFT had the same idea. It gapped even more this morning.

    3. Why take a big position long overnight in front of earnings?

Sorry, I just don't quite follow your reasoning.
