what do you think of this Bernie's taxing trade proposal

It's yet another socialist "get back and those who have" tactic.

There's nothing to agree to here. It is universally bad. This is triple taxation. I am taxed at my normal income rate on the money I put in (and so are the wealthy - that money was at one point taxed). Now, the tax man is coming to get their cut on a trade (both sides!), and then AGAIN when I close/adjust/etc.

This is highway robbery designed to pander to broke millennials too stupid to understand and too broke to think 10 years in the future.

We will probably see a dramatic drop in liquidity as people flee to safer instruments and/or move money into foreign exchanges to trade there (probably what I'd do, personally).

It will hurt the retail traders and investors first and foremost. Big investors and hedge funds with their politician buddies will just add more tax loopholes to the tax code to nullify it affecting them! Pension funds with employees 401K and IRA will also, take a hit! On the plus side, that will not pass because there is going to be massive opposition to it! Democrats might pass it in the House considering they want more and more freebies to give away. I doubt it will pass the Senate and there is always President Donald Trump's veto on top of that!

  3. Yes, demo-s take it too far, this one sucks, you get taxed at 40% already. i actually do not agree. I hope you all vote out Bernie. I used to support his some of his ideals.

In a fair system only profits should be taxed, not an attempt to make them. Will he abolish capital gains tax? He might not even care as much about taxes but just wants to kill the Wall Street trading business b/c Wall Street people are not true "working people" in his communist mind. Why is he targeting only Wall Street trades and not any other business transactions?

President Trump's veto? Bernie is running for president in 2020, remember?

  6. Not that 99% here ever make 50k a year profits derived from trading. Have a look at the pickup of interest in micro futures or the many who participate in the typical "how can I save 5 bucks in data fees" types of threads.
