I also couldn't found my answer from the 1163 threads below about hedge or hedging. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/searc...=3886538&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending My weekly signals are expected only 50%~55% correct.
So is my coinflipping guess.... I take there is no point in using hedging as opposed to having a stop loss. P.S.: I didn't care what others think of hedging, I wanted to know what YOU do with it...
From the book The Inner Game of Trading - Creating the Winner's State of Mind by Koppel and Abell: 'The motto of the Nike Corporation is "There is no finish line," and so it is with trading.' Also found in the book two interesting Quotations below. "Radio has no future. (1896)" - William Thomson. "Man is what he believes." - Anton Chekhov.
Correction: Last week: Long ES 1137.0 26Sep2011/02Oct2011. This week: Short ES 1126.0 03Oct2011/10Oct2011.
The above % is a Signal WinRate before hedging. However the cost of options-based hedging is quite expensive for the strategy/system. Its Profit WinRate (weekly basis) would become about 30%~35%. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=228103&highlight=win+rate
Since nobody cares about your journal, I thought I would drop by... Nice correction, although meaningless, since that position was a breakeven. The following short a huge loss... And don't even get me started on your hedging... I didn't see a signal for this week. Is the experience over?
Yes correct. This ES experiment (hedging futures with options) is now basically done here, while still carrying out more observations privately. Later I will do another experiment on CL, probably next year.
